I work for a large not-for-profit as the only IT worker for 300 employees. Since 2020 and the onset of the pandemic, I have been deploying Microsoft Surface Go laptops to our staff. As much as I dislike Microsoft, these have been solid machines for the most part. The first 30 are up for replacement this year. It seems that the constant pounding of Zoom and Teams meetings have taken their toll on battery life and quite a few of the Surface Go original laptops have had the “black screen of death” where the unit will not boot at all.

I love Open Source. I use FOSS as much and as often as I can but sometimes looking for what might be a simple thing results in someone saying to me "Gubwuby 19.6 is based on BLOOP! Kernal 7 powered by the Slothpancreas engine. It really is a replacement for Haberdashery Pillow 4.8. Maybe you just need to look at the CancerAss repositories for the NoseG0blin version".

Dude, I am just looking for a note taking program.

25 years ago today, Bad_CRC posted the primordial meme video "All Your Base Are Belong To Us" on Newgrounds.

In honor of this important anniversary, I downloaded the original Flash SWF file from Internet Archive, played it using Ruffle in a full-screen window, and replaced the audio with the original MP3 of "Invasion of the Gabber Robots" by The Laziest Men on Mars. So this is probably the highest fidelity encoding possible, without going back to the original forum GIFs.

I wanted to live in a William Gibson novel when I first read those books. Now I sort of do except it is stupid and has less interesting hardware.
