All right, gamedev nerds, do you have cheat sheets, tricks and "shit a beginner would never do like come on mate" I could scour through for tips on how to optimize the OpenGL engine I'm poking in right now?

Egh. Experimenting with a GL loader that would be PRECISELY want I want (specific header loading specifically the profile I want and nothing else), but integrating it into my build is... Difficult

I'm looking for a C/C++ zlib/BSD/MIT library that just opens a Video file using codecs either manually/statically or dynamically linked and can "play 'em back" using time indices or something. SDL_kitchensink doesn't quite cut it. FFMPEG can be used, as I managed to carefully comply with all requirements.

I'm using VP8 for obvious reasons.
