Now we start to feel that we are really wrapping up our project on worker voice tools in GVCs. Even in a super early session, we received excellent feedback - in the best GVC research community style! Now we will continue attending other panels and being in a constant "wow" with Rio de Janeiro!

I'm certainly biased, but it's great to be in Rio again for the #SASE2023 conference! It started in full swing this morning. At 8:30, my colleague Christian Scheper and I presented a paper manuscript we are working on stakeholder participation and due diligence regulation in GVCs.

The paper presents results from our field research on digital tools and collective interest organization. For this one, we focus on the Brazilian coffee and textile value chains.

Diese Woche fand die Abschlusskonferenz des Forschungsverbunds "Ökonomie der Zukunft" der @boeckler_de statt und dabei wurden die Beiträge des Buches "Soziale Standards in globalen Lieferketten" vorgestellt. Bei unserem Text handelt es sich um die Ergebnisse unserer Forschung zu "worker voice tools" bzw. um die Frage, ob und wie Stimmen der Arbeitnehmer:innen in Lieferketten durch digitale Instrumente eingezogen werden. Following that, we examine the specificities of the legal form with Marx, Bourdieu and others and go to a meso-level analysing the role of actors and strategies in legal struggles. Here we engage in debates on law and social movements and critical lawyering.

Firstly, we debate the contributions of the first generation of the Critical Theory to understand the embeddedness of legal struggles in broader societal (and capitalist) dynamics, which are marked by multidimensional forms of domination.
