Feeling very discouraged trying to get family to care about their privacy, or even to download something like Signal as an alternative to iMessage/SMS. They agree SMS presents potential risk to the family now and in the future, but only 1 sibling has downloaded Signal.

Great ~3 minute video which explains nicely why I focus so much on #privacy as it shows the dangers of #surveillance #capitalism.

"The 8-hour workday is too profitable for big business, not because of the amount of work people get done in eight hours but because it makes for such a purchase-happy public. Keeping free time scarce means people pay a lot more for convenience, gratification, and any other relief they can buy. It keeps them watching television, and its commercials. It keeps them unambitious outside of work."

One of my favorite #nextcloud apps is called "Keep or Sweep". All it does it show me a random file (maybe one I haven't opened in a while) and ask me if I want to keep it or not.

I love it! I wish there was something similar for the desktop that would go through my old files and that it would ask me if I wanted to move the file to somewhere else, to help me keep my files organized.

Gotta say, working so heavily in devops makes me long for product dev some days. Solution architecture is way cooler when you're building out products than battling whatever spaghetti yaml monster half-baked and shipped by the hottest new turd in the CICD space is.
I've been doing devops for so many months that I actually got decent at bash programming, and almost cried tears of joy when I started working on some golang code today.
This is a friendly reminder that if you're able, try to get a little sunlight today and go outside. It does a lot of good for my head space when I work from home, and it just might help you too!
@tsturm I just heard some messy things went down at skynet, and that nick is out. I'm so sorry to hear that.
I'm having another one of those days where I'm thinking if people would just learn basic bash / cmdline skills we wouldn't have such a horrific mess of fragile tooling to use for devops. Also, yaml should be canceled.
