When carers get to the age where they are eligible to revive the State pension they automatically lose their right to Carers allowance - I think that's wrong

Petition: Allow people to be eligible for both state pension and full carer's allowance

We call upon the government to ensure that those receiving carer’s allowance continue to get it at the full amount when in receipt of the state pension.

Wealth doesn't #trickledown naturally, it stays where it is or it floats upwards. Wealth gives market advantage. The reality is that unless it is well regulated, Wealth gets sucked upwards.

That's why the workers and the middle classes are losing wealth just as the billionaires are amassing it in proportions of world GDP that haven't been seen since Julius Caesar and his friends/enemies looted the entirety of Europe and the middle East 2000 years ago.

@robriley
“We need key workers?” Was the immediate answer with a roll of the eyes
- totally missing the point that “help for key workers” in reality is a subsidy for middle class communities to keep nurses & firemen etc
Basically “room for the servants in the attic”

I was warning then (during the height of Blairite power) that growing support for the hard right was inevitable if we didn’t improve things for ordinary people.

It’s harsh but If you don’t understand it you need to think harder

@robriley “it's one thing to be disillusioned with the main parties but to opt for those liars, those obvious self serving cretins is beyond me.”

Absolutely
But let’s be honest , most of the mainstream parties are so full of careerists , it’s hard to see the wood for the trees .

I never forgot an incident when I was in the Labour Party and was arguing against helping key workers get mortgage help to live in rich areas
I asked “what’s so special about key workers compared to ordinary workers?

@robriley I probably understand the appeal of Reform better because I work with a number of people who tend to support them (including black & Asian workers which surprises me)
It’s largely desperation.
We are reasonably well paid in comparison to other working class people but we’ve experienced a squeeze. Wages are down due to casualisation of our industry.
Labour, Plaid etc don’t offer a realistic hope of change; so
They decided to “play the hand they’re dealt” not “build a better world”
Brilliant!
