I sang him the same little playlist so many times I still remember the order. Devonshire and Crown, King of the Road, Big City (Merle Haggard, not Op Ivy) Wagon Wheel, the Whaler, Don’t Pray on Me, Waiting, Nashville Tennessee, and then the Replacements.
If Only You We’re Linley came on during our drive, and Johnny says “I think I know this one.” Took awhile, but I realized it’s because I used to sing it to him at bedtime when he was little.
Watching Wednesday with my IT husband: “I’m surprised they didn’t make any attempt to make it look like she was playing that music on the cello. I mean they have her bowing during the pizzicato part, that’s not even a tough one! This is how you feel when IP addresses on tv shows aren’t even remotely correct huh?”
I usually listen to music when I edit, and I usually sing when I listen to music, so it’s been REAL HARD to not make John’s work calls super awkward.
I was never a germaphobe before, but getting sick has Consequences now, and I am extremely tired of them.
I’m taking antibiotics for the strep throat, so it’s getting better. But that means I have to be off of my rheumatoid arthritis meds, so that’s getting worse. I can’t have everything functioning at once, for I would be too powerful.
Helping another photographer with dance studio photos, and it’s a whole different skill set from the things I normally shoot. Having to remember to watch the bottom foot for a stag jump, the top for a firebird. Hit the shutter when the leg is still pulling in on a kick, not when it hits the highest point. Timing is everything.
Amtrak has their rail pass on sale, and I’ve become basically obsessed with planning a route to make use of it. Papers full of arrows and time tables and route names, I’ve gone all Charlie Day yarn map on this thing.
Research time for the book I’m writing, which I’ll have to name at some point.
I’m embracing the weird forum vibes here.
