I have to admit, this article gave me goosebumps. A 3D-printed prosthetic gave a Marine amputee back the ability to swim with his young kids. This device is not yet commercially available, but the company behind it is working to make it available - and at a cost a tenth of current prosthetics (which are -not- suitable for swimming).
