Just learned that unity cloud build changed their pricing from unlimited-with-teams-subscription to over $1 per build an of an empty project.
Way to kill a feature everyone actually liked.
@njamster Yeah, bear in mind most of the levels so far are just 'testing this mechanic'.
Chests ironically are an attempt to permit more interesting routing by putting a key one end of the level the chest elsewhere so you need to go two places in order.
My interpretation of what you're saying is that it'd help have most levels need less than 100% of the gems but also have a big "Exit open" alert when you hit your required number.
Ay.
So I've been working on this prototype in my spare time.
It's pretty jank still but I'd love feedback, especially if folks could record video of their playthrough.
Going to keep on and refine it into a nice but still very small game

@upmultimedia That statement was very true in the past... now it is less so.
The critical difference is unity is usable but getting worse, more complicated and harder to use. And it's doing so with alarming velocity.
The alternatives on the other hand seem to be improving or at least keeping steady.
10 years ago that would have been a ridiculous thing to say. But here we are.
The engine is getting worse, not better. Alternative engines on the other hand are making great strides.
This is the zeitgeist. Do I risk using unity for my next game? Will it be viable by release?
In less technical terms:
Hi, I'm a veteran developer who's been using unity for most of her career.
I don't recommend it at all anymore. If you're starting out, my advice is to go learn godot and unreal (or any other of your choice).
