i occasionally do web dev stuff

Now i have to wonder, since server components can import client components, is the same true for server actions?

I discovered a cool thing about React Server components. Why does this work? 🤯 🔸Create NextJS 13 async component. 🔸Add "use server" to the top of the file 🔸Import into client component 🔸Resolve it using react-query by @TkDodo 🔸Render it in client component I know we probably should not do this, but its amazing that it works #buildinpublic

Today I learnt that not only can I pass Next.js server action as a fetch function into react query (so it's not just for mutation), but a React Server Component can also be a server action too. Now I want to try this out to see how implementing infinite scrolling will feel with this approach.
The documentation for next's server action is quite lacking imo, but I am quite impressed with the tech itself
#react #nextjs #servercomponents #webdev
TypeScript should throw an error for undocumented features
On a side note, does anyone know what the api story for #kbin is like? I wanted to use it, but the API documentation only shows the GET endpoints without anything for POST or authentication, which is not sufficient if i want to make a custom client for myself 😅
It's kinda funny the day I went "you know what, my #Lemmy web client is finally in a place where i can try deploying it for the first time" is also the day Lemmy got attacked 😅
With the recent rise in popularity this was kinda bound to happen; I hope the devs will prioritize #security stuff even more to keep up with it

i currently have a separate account following solely the hashtags i want to keep track of so that it doesn't mesh with my main timeline.

With a 3rd party client allowing me to switch between accounts easily, it is not too much of a hassle, but it is still more ideal to have them in lists instead

Searching texts would be cool too 👀

Way back when I was still active in facebook, I thought hashtags were kinda useless. Only now thanks to #Mastodon did I realize how fun it is to just look up exactly the topic I want and see what people are talking about. Checking hashtags and replying to posts I found with them can potentially be an insane time waster for me 😅

...With that being said can I add hashtag to lists please?

Dear more experienced #mastodon people,
Is there a way for me to create multiple different feeds to follow different topics? I know I can follow hashtags, but I don't want multiple completely different topics to mesh together in the same feed. Thank you so much in advance.

After using #Lemmy for some time, I really appreciate #Mastodon's maturity. Both the server and the ecosystem of mobile apps.

I wish #Lemmy gets there, but it's not yet the case.
