Old Nerd. My first personal computer was a Commodore 64. Love Open Source & Linux.

I first joined Mastodon years before the great exodus from the bird site. Alas, my admin hosed our instance May '24 during a server migration (sys admins: don't forget to back up your pg database separately -- without it, your server's identity is gone!).

I enjoy lighthearted and heavy topics, politics and nature, travel and tinkering at home, and humor. Mine is dark and twisted.

A warning to all, be careful about drink driving as we are getting close to New Year's Eve. Quite rightly Police are out checking on people. Last night I went out for a few drinks. Frankly, I ended up quite drunk. So I took a bus back home. We passed a police checkpoint and I could see them pulling over drivers to breathalize. They waved the bus past. I arrived home safely and without incident.
Which was a surprise, as I've never driven a bus before, and I’m not even sure where I got it from.
