The main point seems to be centered on the fact that things like programs now have an extra layer of things they can gather about you even if you enter 1/1/1900 you are still giving them another layer being pealed away from your onion to determine who you are
granted browsers like librewolf or brave try to disable things like fingerprinting but if it's part of the core OS infrastructure theirs only so much they can do about it

Even if you put in 1/1/1900 into the age bracket that's still an extra tool given to bad actors to determine who you are

Devuan is my go to when artix is just not working on a specific computer so it would have sucked to have to abandon that distro

Devuan has the advantage of being a fork so they can go in and remove stuff
It's like Artix Linux it's a fork that's completely under the control of the devs who forked it rather than being a slave to upstream commits on the main project
Also important to note that during install Devuan lets you choose sysvinit openRC or runit
