@pberry @VaughnVernon But the end result is again, the customer sees $10 for something, does not include tax, tip or now, the processing fees anymore.
As far as the customer is concerned, may as well be a continuation of false advertising.
@pberry @VaughnVernon That's unfortunate. Usually payment processes take a cut of the fees internal to the processing itself.
There is a 1.5% (or something) fee the merchant pays for using like Visa/MC. This sounds like on top of that. (Unless Toast is getting the consumer to pay all the fees rather than forcing the merchant to mark up to account for the fees. Still, not good.)
Need to read up on Toast more. But my gut instinct is to dislike that business model. Feels like Verizon.

@VaughnVernon That's a new one. Did you asked them what the 'tech' fee pays for? Like, what part of the meal you ordered required additional fees that a normal meal doesn't include in the price? Or do they just add 3% on all checks? Or did you like borrow a USB cable or something?

I've been writing an open source authy replacement in #flutter since authy killed their desktop app. This is the first real client app I've written in years. It's been fun. I still prefer my svarm work in Java, but it's nice to branch out.
The reason is this works well on mobile devices as well as desktops. I'd rather Java or Rust. But UI on those platforms kinda suck.
Dart as a programming language is okay. Not bad... Just.... Eh, it's fine.
And... they are back
