Not exactly inspired about the #packers being competitive against the 49ers, should we somehow manage to win tonight. Which is not at all a given either.

Been a little off Twitter/Mastodon the last week or so. Hoping this place is still picking up steam and Twitter is going the other direction, but kind of nervous to check and find out that the billionaire is getting momentum.
Going to treat this as early-days social media for a bit.
Took the boys out for hibachi, first time, to celebrate Thanksgiving vacation starting. 1st grader *loved* it (so did we) while youngest was a little afraid of the flames and interactions.
Highlight was when they sprayed "saki" (water) into oldest's mouth and it dribbled all over his shirt. He thought that was the best thing ever.
Anyway, so glad that we're doing things like this as a family again after these last 2+ years.
I've seen some posts on here on how different it is than Twitter. Most notably being less trolling, more friendly conversation. If this really does end up taking off, I hope that's true as I might end up doing more than lurking and using this as a news aggregator.
So far only a fraction of the folks I follow on Twitter are on here. I follow 355 there and only found like 9 here. Surely I'm doing something wrong, but that's all Debirdify found.
@Teri_Kanefield I’m a fairly recent follower of yours on Twitter and just made a mastodon account yesterday. Have really appreciated your insight and am glad to be able to follow you here. Hoping that eventually there’s enough of my follow list here that I can stop checking Twitter but I’m a still unconvinced that it’ll happen. Fingers crossed!
