@flargh Growing up in the 80s/90s I was sorely disappointed that I never got offered free drugs or had drugged candy or any of the cool stuff they tried to scare us about.

@bigzaphod We also watched it with our 12 year old recently and agreed - holds up well for about 90%.

He found the ‘sexy’ stuff mostly funny but I did have to explain what a Swedish Penis Pump was. That wasn’t something I expected to do as a parent.

I think we will watch the rest because my wife is a completionist.

@qlp Oh, great video! I love that 45 Drives has been doing well, especially since 45 Drives is a spin off of the project that Protocase and Backblaze (where I've worked for 12+ years now) collaborated on to design and build the first Backblaze pods.

It really hones in on the nerdy homelabber and professional parts of my life!

My six year old daughter just said she is going to invent doors for urinals.
@b0rk file names with invisible ascii control characters in them
@charliemchapman I wonder what it will do with my bald head.
@swguru2004 oh shit! I just started the first one with my 12 year old yesterday (we haven’t finished it).
@stroughtonsmith I’m a big fan of TP Hospital and Campus so I’m exited for this one too!

What’s the current method to teach tweens to type? My 12 year old needs to beef up his skills in terms of speed and touch typing.

I learned by playing MUDs but it’s no longer 1995.

Casual reminder that working with technology (be that programming, sysadmin-ing or any of the myriad ways we can Touch Computers™) is pretty damn difficult and if you're struggling, you are not "stupid".

We do a difficult job, cut yourself some slack 💜
