@george Ah I see that's more of a public health way of looking at it. The bad guy doesn't care about getting into *my* shit, but cares about getting into *someone's* shit. That makes more sense.

Question for any security IT people: when a system requires 2-factor authentication and sends a numeric code to my phone, why are those codes sometimes so long? Is it so much less secure to send a 2- or 3-digit code than a 6- or 8-digit code?

New Years Resolution: live more in the terminal and do more within emacs. I'm tired of the web and all the tracking and third-party cookie bullspit. I'm an old man who grew up on the command line and gadummit I'm going to move back there. GUIs are dumb. So here's me tooting from an emacs buffer for the first time and loving it.
