As a hobbyist programmer that has used APIs some, I have never understood them even at a basic level. I spent two days working through Postman.com's API Fundamentals Student Expert course and enjoyed it. It has brought my API knowledge to the next level.
Does anybody have any suggestions for fun public APIs to play with? I have to cement these skills…
“From Above”
One of my favorites. I got lucky and ran into Columbia Helicopters working a fire. This is from Sept 2011. I located the pilot and gave them a copy of the file. One of the many reasons to always carry a camera.

I’m a firm believer in the concept of “Never Stop Learning.” It doesn’t matter what it is: programming, photography, glass blowing, taking classes at the local community college, learning how to fly, etc. Never lose the curiosity, the desire to learn why and how things work. It’s good for you, it’s good for your brain and it’s good for society at large.
A quote to ponder today from James Clear and his 3-2-1 Thursday newsletter:

Thanks so much for coming to my page! I work in healthcare by day, but my passion has always been around the world of Apple. The technology, the history, and the community surrounding Apple have always been a source of so much delight. I do all my writing/art in my spare time, so if you feel inclined, a tip is always incredibly appreciated. But more importantly (honestly) is your continued readership and engagement. You folks are what make this passion project so much fun, so I'm always happy to hear from you.
