Seconds before Mango the chicken decided that the turkey was encroaching on her territory, attacked the turkey, and chased it off.

You guys ever have a hen whose beak seems to delaminate and weaken? I've got a girl who is experiencing that which is causing problems eating. She hasn't lost any weight, but she definitely has trouble eating "normal" food - can't quite grasp it.

She'll devour moistened layer crumbles and continues to forage hardily though (can't really pick grass).

The end of the beak chipped off yesterday.

Also, dirt buddies just trying to stay cool.

Mango chicken is almost fully recovered. We're down to just a bandaid, but a few more days and no more bandage at all 🙌
