If #AI could tell what my research in #anthropology is about it would look like this. #Body #practices #tsunami #ash #respiratory, #gender #identities, #cutting and more keywords. Which others would you pick up?
Want more on #Amabie and #Japan? Have a look at the article I published in 2022 where I try to dig deeper into a possible theoretical interpretation of #Amabie as a #chimera and a #chronotope. Why did this cute #monster attract so much interest during the #COVID19 #pandemic? Is the mechanism of #yōkai working in other cases for #disaster communication? And what does #Amabie have in common with the #plaguedoctor ? #openaccess and download at Shima journal @anthropology https://www.shimajournal.org/article/10.21463/shima.163
The Amabie: A Japanese prophetic chimera and chronotope amid political monstrosities — Shima (ISSN: 1834-6057)

Shima (ISSN: 1834-6057) is a double blind, peer-refereed open-access journal published by Shima Publishing (Australia). Shima is SCOPUS indexed has been registered with the Directory of Open Access Journals since 2007.

My first #Amabie article in 2020 focused on historical connections to the production of woodblock prints in #Edo #Japan, how the return of #Amabie during #covid19 gathered momentum from social media. I started working on it in May by first painting my ow interpretation of the #mermaid -like creature. My watercolour opens the article. You can download it for free in #openaccess from #Anthropology Today #アマビエ @anthropology https://rai.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1111/1467-8322.12602
