Troll's Tale, published in 1983 by Sierra On-Line, is another one of the original games by Al Lowe.
Super simple adventure game limited to a few selections by keyboard.
Sierra On-Line recommended the game for second and third graders. Quite a contrast to the LSL games 😅

Hoyle's Official Book of Games: Volume 1, Sierra On-Line, 1989 (DOS)
Full playthrough of the original in EGA. Always interesting to select and play against Sierra characters in these card games.

Full playthrough of the first "Conquests" adventure game by Christy Marx and Sierra On-Line.
From a special time for adventure games that combines text-parser and mouse control with elegant EGA graphics.
Conquests of Camelot: The Search for the Grail / Sierra On-Line / 1990

The Games: Winter Challenge
MindSpan / Accolade
1991
A fun and fairly challenging DOS Winter Olympics game with a good multi-player mode.
Just like ABC's Wide World of Sports' iconic phrase, one can experience "The thrill of victory" but especially "... the agony of defeat."

Donald Duck's Playground / Sierra On-Line / 1984
An early game that Al Lowe designed/developed. I have vague memories of playing the C64 version back in the day. It's pretty fun edutainment.

Conan: Hall of Volta (SE Software / Datasoft, 1984)
One of the legendary Datasoft movie tie-in games. Playing the C64 version here but I used to play the original (pirated copy) on the Apple II.
Ultima Underworld II: Labyrinth of Worlds
LookingGlass/Origin/EA
1993 (DOS)
Much like the first Ultima Underworld, part II was still ahead of it's time.

Based on one of my favourite childhood films,
The NeverEnding Story (Ocean, 1985) is a text-based adventure game that follows the movies story decently. One of Ocean's earlier movie tie-in games.

The other day I dug up the name of a game that eluded me for ~40 years that I played when I was a kid on our Apple II. While I didn't know exactly what I was doing then, this early adventure game with graphics featuring a ski resort in the Alps (still vivid in my mind) left an impression on me.
Alpine Encounter (Random House, 1983) for Apple II
