I'm trying to get some semblance of structure to the git federation discussions so that everyone can reach consensus on the technical solutions, but I have no idea how to reach consensus on the structure of reaching consensus. Lol.
Turns out, all they can do is a one-time payment. So now I have to wait for the ancient 1970's US ACH system to maybe transfer it through today, and try logging in another day to set up the automatic payments. Because just maybe, having a payment pending is why their website decides to throw me HTTP 500 errors. LOL. I'm documenting all the written and electronic communication, to maybe hire a lawyer, in case I need to protect myself and my tenant from B's bullshit.
Even worse, when I go online to take care of the business (because doing shit by phone in the US costs extra $), it's full of HTTP 500 on all the payment pages. I've worked on software directly used by customer support. I know how they feel dealing with customers in shitty situations. So I wind up talking to 2 different ones. I'm patient. Seething, but patient and firm. But to them, my account seems fine and I'm a complainer. To me, I'm an anomaly that can't self-service my shit.
My poor tenants back in the US had a fucking FINAL NOTICE BEFORE FORECLOSURE taped to the door. My house is being rented out while I live in Switzerland. Mortgage company A sold my mortgage to B and didn't notify me. Gave B my last known US address and my first email on file (which is now unmonitored). B tries to send me mail & email to tell me to pay up. I'm getting nothing. It's not until they go and freaking jump-scare my tenants that I hear about it, and so now I'm pissed.

On this topic, I brought up my Nuke Eng classmate who mentioned to me that his job building and servicing reactors at the US Naval shipyard was going to be impacted.
Someone else then dismissed it entirely and asserted that nuclear reactor were literally 99.999% "special steel" not going to be impacted by the trade tariffs. All in a case of self-righteous look-at-how-smart-I-am signaling. I, admittedly, blew up.
That's not how reactors are built nor how the steel economy works.
