Ika MakimakiQuick reminder that at least a decent chunk of the forests *still burning* in Canada were part of the "offsets" countries and companies pay for as credits in Carbon Trading schemes meant for them to keep polluting guilt-free.
The "offsets" are now in the atmosphere heating the planet. As well as the original emissions.

That's part of why Emissions Trading Schemes are little more than fancy accounting and should never be accepted as Climate Action.

If the Trump indictments had happened when I was on the birdsite, I would’ve been tweeting nonstop about them with MSNBC on in the background. That version of me didn’t know she was burning herself out. I do miss the highs, like a drug, but I feel queasy and shaky if I watch TV news now, and I prefer dipping into social media occasionally to living on it.
Anyway, I’m not surprised there were 34 felony counts against Trump, but I’m surprised he didn’t try to run.
I awoke in the dark to a rumbling beside my head. The fluffy #beast was purring as loudly as though I were giving her a good brushing. Not even five o’clock, said the red digits that glowed from two feet away. She stepped forward to push her chilly, wet nose into my face, as if to say “Your bladder is full, human.” Satisfied, she stretch-walked to the foot of the bed, where she curled into her favourite sleeping spot.
