When I read that NYT article about how undecided voters said they weren't sure who won the debate, and half of them said "well, I would have liked more fine print details to convince myself to vote for Harris," my first thought was this is a modern political debate.
This isn't the fucking 1850s and the Lincoln/Douglas debates, where they spent DAYS, and went to multiple cities, and had these long winded debates, where listening to politicians give two-three hour speeches was seen as a great way to spend an afternoon, in between the public hangings and the people driving steam trains into each other.
The candidates had two minutes to talk, and 90 minutes in total. TWO MINUTES TO TALK. I have no idea why you think you are going to get anything of substance when the candidate gets two minutes to talk, the other candidate gets another two minutes to respond, then they move on. You can't even order a sandwich at Subway in two minutes unless you get the most boring, bland thing you can imagine, and you want a presidential candidate to lay out every detail on how to end wars, fix inflation, and restructurw the tax code in the length of a long TikTok video that most people would swipe away? Ffs.
And this is when you only have two candidates! You know how much of a clusterfuck those 8 or 12 person debates during the primaries. Modern debates since at least the 80s are just for the little soundbites to cut into a commercial, endlessly replay on the news, or now days to post on social media with the caption "WE OWNED THE LIBS!!" or "SUCK ON THAT MAGA!"
If you want a substantive, detail oriented pitch, then go look for the policy platforms. But even then, it's all asperational. The Congress can't fucking pass a budget without threatening to shut down the government every few months. And if the President does anything that someone doesn't like, it goes to the courts and then it's held up for eternity.
So, suck it up you fucking undecided nincompoops, because it's basically a choice between someone who is modestly competent and can usually put some sentences together but most likely won't get anything done because the whole system is rigged against them, and a mentally degrading narcissistic prick who will spend his time kow-towing to foreign dictators and doing whatever the current yes men have convinced him to do... And still have it all bogged down by the courts and a congress that can't walk and chew gum at the same time without running to the closest TV camera to yell into it for a few minutes.

Tomorrow is the first session of my first ever table top RPG, and I'm going to be the DM.
Well, one of them, the "story" DM. My friend, who is going to be playing a character, is going to be helping me with mechanics and stuff.
And it's Fallout themed! What a great combo, eh?
If y'all are interested, I can share some of what is happening, or at least write up summaries to share with the other players and remind me what's all happening.
This is also all based on a fanfic I wrote years and years ago, so very little of what I talk about, you'll even know as it's all fanon
What a good kitty! He's pretty well trained. (I hear some tugs can make him purr >;3)
Finished comm for Kemba!
(edit to put a warning!!)
Alright, Fallout London review time
And, well... I might not be as much of a fan of it as some people say. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1fJUdnoZDpGFyIvYOEAE_8MzsvF2Biax9qc3Z9Ry1gtk/edit?usp=sharing
Been playing a decent amount of Fallout London since it came out, but I think I’m going to be the first person to say that, well… I might not actually be enjoying it as much as most people seem to be, and I’m nowhere saying that it’s the best thing to ever happen to the franchise, and that it ma...
