Here are a couple of panels I made last night, from/for the graphic novel I’m working on. These give nothing away from the actual story; there are a lot of silent and slow moments in this project.

This is Anton, one of the two main characters. He’s a very chill guy who likes baths (and kinda looks like my partner 🫣).

Sketchbook. I am currently (and have been, for the past year) working on my first graphic novel. These are some of the research pages. I have three sketchbooks full of research for this project, and about 30 panels made so far. And it’s far from done yet !

The whole project is entirely hand drawn, with ink on paper. I will likely do some editing digitally at the later stages. It is somewhat of a light story compared to my previous short stories and poetry, but as I can’t help myself, the main theme is not that light - although it is tackled with a soft approach and surrounded by magic.

Le fleuve Saint Laurent (the Saint Lawrence river) is almost a whole character in this story: I think my love for it has naturally translated in the project.

I will be sharing some snippets and panels at some point too (when I feel ready for it: I am the kind of person who has trouble showing unfinished projects to anyone. 🫣)

These are from a series of drawings called Controlled chaos. These two are the remaining ones from 10, the other ones found new homes over time.

They're a bit different from what I usually draw, but I remember that I really enjoyed the process. There's still something I very much like about them.

This is a book I made during the pandemic curfew. It is shaped like an accordeon, and by folding it, you can actually combine different pages together to create different images/narratives, than just the linear one.
Every page is designed to fit with all the other the pages.

I have always been interested in the book as object and the correspondence between visual and writing (I did a thesis on the topic ten years ago), and this was my first (interesting) attempt in using my drawing as main media in a book instead of writing.

I loved making this so much, that since I only want to draw books. Right now I am working on a Graphic novel.
