Useful Chess Terms:
tempo - the decision for the moves is yours. For example, if I pin a knight, that knight can't move. If I threaten a piece, the number of moves the opponent can make without losing the piece is a bound on their decision-making
pin - make it so that a piece can't move without endangering an opponent's more expensive or strategic piece
reveal - the prestige! this is when you move a piece that shows all your hard work, often tying together seemingly disparate earlier moves
I think these ideas are useful for thinking about many zero-sum scenarios.
@uanews Sorry to hear. Depends. For me, it was like the flu. For others I know, even with boosters and vaxxed up, it was like a freight train ran them over for a week. Thank goodness they were vaxxed, I can't imagine how they'd have lived through it otherwise.
