Useful Chess Terms:
tempo - the decision for the moves is yours. For example, if I pin a knight, that knight can't move. If I threaten a piece, the number of moves the opponent can make without losing the piece is a bound on their decision-making
pin - make it so that a piece can't move without endangering an opponent's more expensive or strategic piece
reveal - the prestige! this is when you move a piece that shows all your hard work, often tying together seemingly disparate earlier moves
I think these ideas are useful for thinking about many zero-sum scenarios.
Florida is a problem. If we don't fix it, this problem will continue to spread. There's an entire generation there being intentionally deceived, and many of them will not understand the world enough to make good choices for our nation.
