@frumble Okay, I am just trying to share my own experience. Good luck, andtake care.
@frumble It likely depends on the volume of traffic and how constrained you are on memoy and disc access. Youtube user Jeff Gerrling has been doing videos about using modern disc technologies on the RPI4. If you can use SATA you would be surprised how much web server traffic you can handle. Nginx is very fast, if you have your site cached, especially. How much RAM RPI 4 is it?
@glynmoody I think the new WTO DG, who is african, Nigerian or Ugandan, and also a US citizen, is uncomfortable about the ambiguity represented by this so called "governmental authority exclusion" A gloobal push to get countries off the hook for funding health and education is desperately needed but at least one developing country, India strongly opposes and change because they claim that the jobs in those sectors are owed them.
@glynmoody It cites a WTO document from the fall of 1998 but the URL is wrong. It is a secretariat note from 1999. I have that here and if you give me a few moments I will find the link. You really should bring this to peoples attention. This is what I kind of suspected would happen all along. Note that its also what is said in the Lancet Article.
@glynmoody The person's initials are JH. I suspect you may know him. He's written extensively on Art 1.3 and we share the opinion of this horrid part of the GATS. Its the key to the whole mess, IMHO. Right after he told me I was right, Twitter locked me out of my account and not long after that all my tweets just vanished for good. Three years worth.
@glynmoody So anyway, what he told me was that curious about the same thing he had sook out the "DTI" person who had literally written those two lines, (Art 1.3b+c) and although I dont have it in front of me he said that no, the exemption did not apply to the UK and it was not intended to. Since that is what he said I dont want to embellish it. For verification look at this. http://individual.utoronto.ca/diep/c/price1999.pdf
@glynmoody How have you been? We used to write back and forth.way back in late 2000 I asked a UK person who is a Labor party expert who used to be with an NGO War against Want, about Whether GATS Article 1.3c would leave the UK allowed to have you NHS or not, because it seems obvious to me that since you sell health insurance the National Health Service would not be exempt NHS from the scope of the GATS when at the end of this year the temporary use of the EUS trade committments ends.
@glynmoody I remember that post, last year, the lasttime I was here. He was cute and I really regret putting him outside when it was cold. I later found their nest and left it there until the fall, when it was empty so I removed it. I recently found this interesting article on how the vanilla flower is pollinated by one sweet species of stingless bee, and the honey they produce is much sought after. Its supposedly the most delicious honey in the world. Its from Mexico.
@frumble So what are you looking todo? All you need is a computer unless you get a real lot of traffic. Most servers are powerful enough to satuate a pretty wide pipe when running as a web server. Unless you are really using a lot of simultaneous nested database queries. I have done this and its surprising how much work you can get out of a very basic machine. I have managed some mid sized organizational intranets. The requirements are modest, if you make good use of caching especially.
@frumble Yes, I want to self host too. Paying for multiple vhosts is getting old. Would like to set up a redundant connection, an AS and peering.
