After what seems like years, but has only been a month or two, my co-author (@workingwriter) and I have gotten pdfs of the finalized version of Mastodon For Dummies! The book will be available everywhere in a few weeks.

I just finished skimming through the book (I've read the whole thing a few times now) and I think we've done Mastodon and the #fediverse justice and I'm really proud of it. I can't wait for you all to see it. #dummies #mastodon #book #hooray #preorders

The feedback is in such high volume and its direction is so plain that we're acting now.

We are leaving OGL 1.0a in place, as is. Untouched.

I mean, the medium model correctly transcribes my name, where the small model calls me "Juche" so there's really no competition in this use case 😉

I just started #OpenAI #whisper transcribing some podcast archives (inspired by @geniodiabolico

I am very impressed with the first episode using the medium english model. The small model was almost as good, but just off enough I think it's worth the extra compute time as it's something running in the background with no deadlines.
