Designer and type-lover. I mainly lurk and boost cool posts with this account. However, I just started a digital garden from scratch that I am excited to tend šŸ‘‰ https://garden.lederer.work/

Had fun listing all of these interfaces that are aware of the hardware’s dimensions or buttons or other physical properties, so they can do fun things with pointing to stuff.

Please send me more if you can think of them!

I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed this essay on LLMs by @aredridel: they’ve helped me rethink a few of my old arguments, and sharpen some of the critiques I still hold close.

It was worth my time; maybe it’s worth yours, too. https://aredridel.dinhe.net/2026/02/12/the-ai-haters-guide-to-code-with-llms/

@kepano love your #buywisely product showcases. Is there a place on your website where all of these are collected? Would love to see any more you have in your rotation.

It inspires me to examine the constant things in my life that are well-made that have stuck around. The LAMY Safari happens to be one of those things!

In the immortal words of Matthew Butterick: ā€œAnd never choose Times New Roman or Arial, as those fonts are favored only by the apathetic and sloppy.ā€ https://practicaltypography.com/typography-in-ten-minutes.html

Butterick’s Practical Typography

@kellianderson sits down with Adam Savage to talk about her new book, Alphabet in Motion. It’s part pop-up book and part history of letterforms. Kelli is one of my favorite designers, such a great combination of skill and joy in everything she makes. Can’t wait for my copy to arrive!

There is no visible scrubbing UI for the voice message experience in iOS.

Borrowing the music scrubbing bar might be a good alternative to let users know they can scrub the audio file if they want.

Note: You can scrub the UI currently, but for some reason Apple has hidden that UI.

For the Die Grotesk design info, I took a different approach.

It’s a personal essay about growing up in the 90s, what it means to run a creative practice then and now, what it’s like to run a small foundry in the shadow of a massive monopoly, what it means to make type in the shadow of Helvetica. How it feels to be original, what it means to sell out. I hope it resonates with my international font whānau out there!
Klim Type Foundry Ā· Die Grotesk design information

Die Grotesk was shaped in the long shadow of Helvetica, a typeface both revered and resented in equal measure. Graphic designers love it. Type designers hate it. Endlessly revived and resold, simultaneously banal and sublime, its forms feel inevitable. A typeface so familiar it feels like air.

Chocolate digestives are one of my favorite cookies (or biscuits).

There is one glaring issue with chocolate digestives, and it's that my fingers get chocolately holding them. They need a handle! Behold the new and improved digestive.
