Walked up to see the 70-ton bell of Chion-in, cast in 1636. Then a little treat in Maruyama Park.

When walking the halls of the Kyoto State Guest House here and there you will see these amazing floor lamps. Origami-inspired, these lamps are made with paper and wood, pure joinery and no nails!

One of my favourite features of the Fuji no Ma at the Kyoto State Guest House is the *kirigane* the gold work on the wooden sliding doors for the stage. Also note the inlaid wisteria design

One thing I didn’t talk about in my post (see up thread) is the lighting. Each one of those lighting units can be lowered or raised to give all sorts of cool effects 🪩
