Imagine your two options for a display driver are as follows:
* A $1000+ software package that you have to pay $200-$300 to upgrade;
* Or a completely free and open source project that's ran mostly by volunteers and a small charity, but it will sometimes make your screen black out if you try to load too much text onto it at once.

Now stop imagining, and become blind. This is now your reality.

Microsoft Ava (Natural HD) and Microsoft Andrew (Natural HD) can now be used offline with NVDA and JAWS, via the SAPI Adapter utility. The voices come from Windows 11 Insider builds.
You need to go the Google Drive page whose link will be provided at the end, and grab both voice packages and REG packages from there.
Unzip the voices into the C:\TTS folder (or edit the path in the reg files).
You should have the following folders:
C:\TTS\AndrewHD
C:\TTS\AvaHD
Add all the reg files from AvaHD_reg.zip and AndrewHD_reg.zip to the registry.
They are called HD for a reason. They sound amazingly natural, though not as perfectly lively as their online counterparts, and each voice is about 230MB. Ava offline doesn't breathe unlike its online counterpart either.

To spell this out clearly, the reason RAM has quadrupled in price is that a huge quantity of RAM that hasn't been produced yet has been bought with money that doesn't exist to populate GPUs that also haven't been produced to go in datacenters that haven't been built powered by infrastructure that may never exist to meet a demand that doesn't exist at all to make profit margins that mathematically can't exist while economists talk about this thing they call the "rational markets hypothesis".
Help😕: I'm trying to take the DHS's Trusted Tester Certification for Accessible Government websites? I've got to the point where I'm using the ANDI Javascript Bookmarklet Tool for proofing WCAG bugs, Is there an easy way to invoke the Bookmark on the Bookmark Bar in Chrome with a keyboard shortcut? In short, I just need a mechanism for activating that bookmakr? Thanks.

Factoid😤: Digging into the Google Home Premium 30 Day Trial, it looks like it doesn't automatically enroll me and debit my card the after the 30 Days are up! It just shuts off, your required to explicitly subscribe and sign-up to keep the service going. Been using it for Gemini Nest Tests and Research, on the Podcast, so that was a pleasant surprise, nice job Google, on not being Evil! So for those who want to play with Gemini for a bit, the 30 Day Trial might be a easy way to kick the tires, an try it out, also, I think based on what I'm reading you'll likely retain the Free more limited version of Gemini on your Nest Smart Speaker, stay tuned as I cross that Rubicon in the next two weeks.
