I made a Jane Goodall diorama as a sample for a class.
The idea is that students will pick a famous person to learn about, then make a “skin” or costume for the Makey:bit and use it both as the main character and the controller for the scene.

I’m very excited about this upcoming class I’ll be teaching:
It’ll be held at the newly renovated Dungeness River and Nature Center and students will get to learn about the wildlife of the area then build and code their robot based on an animal they choose.
At the end of the 6 week class the students’ creations will be displayed at the center for a few weeks as a diorama for everyone to enjoy and learn.
Have I mentioned the renovated center is beautiful and the location is gorgeous?

I’ve been having such a fun time making “costumes” for the MakeyBit and then building projects around them.
I’m picturing the MakeyBit being used in the classroom for students’ book reports, biography presentations, etc. with Ss making their own costumes and projects.

I made a compilation video of the projects I worked on this year.
It was an interesting year with some longer projects than usual. And I learned I should always take horizontal and vertical videos of all my projects even if they look better one way, it’ll make compilations easier. Hindsight is 20/22😎
