Spent a bit of time actually making search work on https://www.goodgear.club including a few dark mode tweaks and tightening up the navigation.

Not bullet proof but it does work and actually better than I’ve found DuckDuckGo does on other projects where I’ve just outsourced it. Will keep an eye on how this works and maybe I’ll adapt other sites too.

Can’t sleep, think I’ve got too much adrenaline after playing football for the first time in a few months. 4-a-side was probably a bit too tough on a 6-a-side pitch for our first game back 😆

Originally I used the outline property to achieve a border but only realised later that it can only be square and doesn’t adhere to the rounded corners as you can see in the image below. Just fixed it by using a 1pm box shadow instead. Much better and because it’s semi-transparent, works in light and dark mode really well.
