@penwing cant find that there's a Ukrainian version, but the dog man books are a big favourite with my 8 yr old and have less writing. My 8 yr old boy also suggested a radio controlled car as "they take some concentration to drive and that might take his mind off the the sad things happening in his home country".

@GrahamSkeats @nic diolch! I think all the variations were where I lost confidence a bit. My mum was first language, but married an Englishman. I went to a bilingual chapel as a young child so absorbed quite a bit when tried speaking welsh in uni, found I was being corrected to the Pembs Welsh/Aberystwyth welsh/ north Welsh I just lost confidence a bit!
