I painted a little plushie guy I got at the store the other day. I'm not sure if he's a squid or a mushroom - the little guy on the shelf above him was clearly a squid - so I call him squidshroom! and even if both of those things are wrong for some reason, it's a cute name so I'm sticking with it :3

ok so update, the tutorial I'm watching uses Spotify, which doesn't let you do what you need to do to access its API easily anymore, and Twilio, which users in the comments were complaining about phone numbers?? (groans)

starting out with crash courses in APIs (like, the basic basics) because I've never worked with them before, but some of the cooler looking courses use the Twitter API as part of the exercise, and that's not exactly an option anymore...
