Hi! I have been told that winget now carries Cartero. winget comes installed by default in Windows 11 and Windows 10 1809 or later.

Installing should be as easy as running `winget install cartero` in PowerShell or in the MS-DOS prompt.

I have been given instructions on how to configure an automatic action to notify their registry on release. Let's hope the updates enter smoothly.

GTK 4.22.0, the first stable release of GTK 4.22 is now available!

Lots of changes happened in this development cycle:

- a new SVG-based format for symbolic icons, including state-based animations
- GtkSvg, a paintable that renders (animated) SVG efficiently
- GtkAccessibleHypertext, an interface for accessible object containing links
- GtkPopoverBin is a new widget that you can use to show a popover menu on a widget

In the meantime, if you want to update the dependencies, you should continue tracking upstream by having the flake pointing to "github:danirod/cartero".

But I suppose that in the future you should be able to pin to a specific version by pointing to "github:danirod/cartero/v26.1" or something like that. (Or, if you don't mind using an old GTK version, pin "github:danirod/cartero/v26.0").

I don't know, I am just discovering stuff. Maybe that's not the way to do things.

Hey FYI, if you use Cartero via the Nix flake, I updated the flake.lock this week.

I am not an expert on Nix (I barely understand now what that cacophony of brackets mean), but after testing the outcome of calling `nix shell`, it seems that the GTK version has been updated from 4.14 to 4.20. So that's good I guess.

(That account and team was already there when I joined the company, don’t jugde me!)
Oh boy, here it comes.

As usual, a GitHub reaction in the release is appreciated. (Still don't know the consequences of reacting, but it looks cool as a cucumber)

This version had to be delayed because I had to reconfigure my build farm. I tried to release before the end of 2025, but the VMs did not want to boot and I had to give up.

This new build farm is faster and more convenient. The process to craft a release has been optimized and now it takes less than an hour from start to announcement. Future releases should not be delayed too much (this time for real).
