I was curious why Biden denied federal disaster assistance to folks in Ohio after Norfolk Southern set a bomb off, killing an astronomical amount of wildlife. Then i realized that these kinds of train derailment are a ridiculously common occurrence, like 3 times a day kind of common, and many carry toxic chemicals. So this would set a precedence for future situations. Plus, Northfolk is trying hard af to hurt the residents by offering them a cheap payout in exchange for never being allowed to sue or discuss what happened to them. They aren't even being offered enough to cover medical expenses. They are being told it's safe to be home... yet all of their pets are still dying. It's wild what we put up with, tbh. The depth of our domestication is so strong that we're just watching the world die around us
