Inflation in the U.S. is being driven by profits, not wages. And interest rate hikes don’t reduce profit-driven inflation.
What they do is put the burden of inflation on lower-wage workers and the poor.
How about we target corporate profits, not working people, for a change?
It's a beautiful day in north Alabama, where my husband and I just cast our votes for Democrats. I'm thankful that our elections in my tiny town are, at least so far, not plagued by long lines, armed vigilantes, or other issues.
Instead I voted in an art gallery, surrounded by neighbors across the political spectrum. Though I'm anxious about the outcome, of the election across the nation, this small bit of normal was sweet.
