Don't ya just love an old map of the place you live? What's still here? What's not there yet? Found this 1788 map of Newcastle, which shows the old streets that have been there a LONG time, like Northumberland St, Percy St, Pilgrim St, Westgate etc. Their very names tell of their age. What's missing are the not yet built Grey Street and Grainger Street, and of course, the railway. Fascinating.
Belated introduction time: I’m a documentary producer living in Manila. Before this, I worked in radio, TV, and the music industry. I was an embassy kid. Spent my formative years in America, my teen years in Australia and the Philippines, and recently, 13 years in Singapore. I think a lot about the invisible lines that divide us, good coffee, and good audio stories. Hello, hello. Nice to meet you all.
@maritzac How glorious!
I love it in here. There's currently a hashtag named #thicktrunktuesday that is basically pics of massive, beautiful trees.
I humbly submit El Tule, an incredible ahuehuete from the state I was born, Oaxaca. It's over 2000 years old. "Tule" means "Tree of Enlightment" #Oaxaca #Mexico #ElTule It has the thickest trunk in the world.
Please boost if you’re still masking indoors (in public places)

Obsessed with the discovery that "freelance" comes from a medieval term for a mercenary warrior (who is sworn to no lord.) A literal free lance. I am a knight.

Currently reading this lovely novel about love, game design, and immortality.
