Only better services can make public transport useable for more people.

Felt like the right time to update this chart....

Norway is at ~100% EVs for new sales, but 7 out of every 10km driven in 2024 was reliant on fossil fuels. Cars stick around for decades - so change is slow.

Protecting people from fossil fuel crises means EVs, yes, but *fast deep cuts* means huge $$ in public and active transport. Speed matters for both climate and cost.

(2025 data should be out in a month)

The spike in fuel prices reminds us that Victoria once had electric regional trains, Melbourne to Traralgon 1956-1987.
Planning and funding electrification for V/Line, starting with the busiest lines, would help protect against future cost spikes, help cut emissions, and improve air quality.🚆⚡
Happy World Sleep Day! 😴
Although you can't sleep while driving, you can on PT (T&Cs apply). Fatigue is a major cause of road crashes, particularly in rural and regional areas. Be like Ed - leave the driving to a professional and get some shut eye. Sleeper train optional. https://worldsleepday.org/

Americans drive a lot more than people in other rich countries.

If we didn’t drive so much, we wouldn’t die in so many crashes.

It’s a simple point, but one that NHTSA, traffic engineers, and many road safety org’s have yet to learn.

The e-bike that demolished this bus stop must have been going super fast
Join us today to support better public transport.
Weekends are the busiest shopping days, but many bus routes run half as often, and some don't run at all. More buses = more options = more people out of the traffic.
I don't want to laugh at someone's real distress but this IS very funny ...
🚉🎂Happy birthday to Keilor Plains station, opened on 27th January 2002.
From next month this station will get more trains more often - at least every 10 minutes at most times, 20 minutes in the evenings - the type of upgrade needed across Melbourne to help get more people out of cars onto trains👍
