Also bonus feature. Xcodebuild MCP can now capture screenshots of your app running at runtime and editors like Cursor can then use that screenshot as context to understand how you app looks!

XcodeBuild MCP: UI Automation is here!

Taking agent-driven iOS development to the next level with UI Automation

Just released a beta version of UI automation support to XcodeBuild MCP. This is massive as it allows your editor (Cursor etc) to not only write code, build code but also debug and interact with app. This is game changing. 1.3.0 available now. https://github.com/cameroncooke/XcodeBuildMCP

Introducing XcodeBuild MCP – a tool that enables any #MCP client or agent to interact with Xcode projects more predictably. It allows AI coding assistants like @cursor_ai, Claude Desktop, and @windsurf_ai to execute builds, access real-time build outputs, and iterate based on the results. This enhances the development workflow by providing structured access to build processes and diagnostics.

Is Swift Assist Available?

Check the availability of Xcode's upcoming Swift Assist feature. Be the first to know.

Great post about protocol conformances, why they were slow before iOS 16, and some arcane tricks to improve app startup times. https://www.emergetools.com/blog/posts/how-order-files-speed-up-protocols

How to easily make the slowest operation in Swift ~20% faster with an order file.

Here’s a tip for all you #Ivory users:

You can drag the compose button to ANY corner! That’s right. Just tap, hold, drag.

For lefties like myself, having it on the left side makes all the difference.

Still getting my head around Mastodon can anyone recommend any good getting started resources for someone coming from the T service?
Hello 👋 I’m Cameron and I’m from the UK. I currently work as Engineering Manager for a online marketplace, I have a background as an #iOS engineer with over 12 years experience. After work I’ll be spending time with my family & monkeying around with my two boys. In the spare time I have left after all that I’ll probably be playing on my Switch, reading tech blogs, watching PointFree.co content or zonked out in front of the TV. I especially love #scifi and #starttek. That’s my #introduction.
