today I rode across the Dumbarton Bridge and went to the San Francisco Bay National Wildlife Refuge. not many birds, but some interesting light on the water. #photography

Here's a little something I was working on this week to visualize flows of Qing officials 1830-1911 from province of origin (where they originally sat for the exam) and province of first post. Some of the locations are not really provinces, for example, Jingshi was the primary capital (now Beijing) and Shengjing was the secondary capital (now Shenyang). Shutian and Fengtian were prefectures. Anyway...
