@shoq I suppose it depends on what you mean by major university, but many public schools would be extremely reluctant to implement this. One consequence is it would cut off access to a lot of athletic talent in those states and the downstream effects of that on revenue losses would cause more pain than universities would tolerate. But something needs to be done.

This categorized them the same as state outlets in authoritarian regimes which is a false equivalency.
