@gwensnyder they have never been contained and they’ve always been fully racist.
The last 60 years of Republicans have been spending massive amounts of energy to keep as many black people in prison, gerrymandering against black peoples, and otherwise making them unable to vote to mitigate their having been given “civil rights.”
@rmondello I heartily disagree that AI will collapse humanity in the first place. Logically speaking it would be in their best interest to formulate the necessary tools for our survival which will speed up AI’s ability to proliferate and eventually leave us behind on Earth entirely.
I don’t understand why people assume high-intelligence leads to malevolence, when our experience is that it usually leads to benevolence.

@dymaxion using our moms as an example has no inherent bearing on the messaging to girls today. I would even go so far as to say it should encourage girls to get into the tech industry so they don’t fall behind like our mothers and grandmothers did and end up as victims of fraud. Those generations were discouraged from the tech industry and look how that turned out. Bad, it turned out bad.
