DIY ist mehr als nur eine Abkürzung – es ist Haltung, Widerstand und Community in einem und dies immer aus einem Wunsch nach Unabhängigkeit heraus. "Tracks" wirft einen Blick hinter die Kulissen der DIY-Szene in Berlin und Leipzig und trifft Menschen, die mit wenig Geld, aber mit viel Leidenschaft Räume, Labels und Werkstätten aufbauen.
Sent a pull request to Audacity fixing a crash bug I'd been running into frequently. The cause was an out-of-bounds memmove. Classic C++ areas.
Anyway I got a fucking copilot review on my PR which left two comments, both completely wrong, one of which suggesting I reintroduce the out of bounds memory access. I'm furious!

the datasheet only shows the notch from the BT variant, and in Fig. 12 points to an imaginary 'pin 1 index'? am i supposed to know its orientation in the packaging? i need halp plz

The problem is that if the peddlers were honest about what LLMs *can* do, the bubble would immediately blow.
The techie within me is still amazed at what LLMs can do. It's pretty impressive, honestly.
The Luddite and concerned citizen with professional expertise within me wants to whack a lot of people and regulate the current hype out of existence.
I rarely subtoot, but when I do just to say: if an open source project that your commercial project depends on breaks something in your software stack, causing you trouble, no matter how much, that's your problem and your problem alone.
"The software is provided as is" is a part of OSS licenses for a reason, and unless we have a contract that says otherwise, I'm not part of your bloody "supply chain".
