@marcoarment contrast problem in the upper right. I have reduce transparency turned on.
Had to be done.
@jsnell didn't I hear you say that the older Watch faces received the 1s refresh treatment in watchOS 26? I'm not seeing it with Solar Dial. It was pretty much the only feature I was looking forward to in *26. :(
So much of iOS dev is adding Rube Goldberg workarounds for broken behavior in the built-in UI components and then just hoping that the chaos monkeys in Apple's frameworks team don't break your fixes in the next update

@atpfm as I'm sure 1000 people have pointed out, Tesla no longer requires hands on the wheel but instead does eye tracking with the cabin camera. This works for freeway, highway, city streets, and parking lots. I just returned from a 2000+ mile road trip. Hands on lap for probably > 95% of that. It was glorious.
Make "crypto" mean "cryptography" again.
I often hear people lament that iPadOS isn't more powerful, such that the iPad can take on more tasks currently performed on the Mac.
I don't want iPadOS to become more powerful. If iPad does take share away from the Mac, macOS will be (more) neglected by Apple as they push people to the iPad.
The Mac is an open computing platform and iPad is a walled prison.
We need more open computing platforms, not fewer.
Apple Adjusts DMA Plan to Offer Direct Downloading of Apps From the Web (With a Big Asterisk), Custom Link-Out Screens, and Marketplaces Solely for the Distribution of the Developer’s Own Apps

I suspect Apple was ready to go from the start with web downloads — they knew the EC *might* demand it — and so they opened their hand January 25 with the compliance plan they hoped would fly, and are ratcheting out, piecemeal, with additional changes in the direction of more openness, as they obtain feedback — both from developers, and whatever EC back channels they may have.

Cathedral, Mountain, #Moon

Capturing a triple alignment of the Basilica of Superga, Monviso mountain, and the crescent Moon took six years and five failed attempts due to bad weather. Success came recently in Piemonte, Italy, with clear skies allowing for a shot that also revealed the da Vinci glow on the Moon's surface.
