Well, the great bluesky experiment for me just didn't work out. I just kinda stopped caring about any sort of interaction on there.
Part of me is just over most social media in general. I hardly share on Facebook anymore, I'm only still on Twitter (sorry, that's all I'll ever call it) because I have a great circle of friends there, and I actually still like Instagram. Yeah, it's not perfect, but I guess I have to have a favorite.
Yesterday I watched the 1987 film North Shore for the first time.
See, in '87 I was ten and the #surf movie that caught my attention that year was Back to the Beach.
North Shore was less campy, but still kinda hokey. A podcast likened it structurally to The Karate Kid and I can totally see it. I still enjoyed it and the soundtrack slaps!
Understanding that everyone is on their own journeys with health and weight, I am stoked today to have hit 250 pounds after spending all summer between 253 and 255.
I want to lose at least another 20 pounds for the health of my liver and because I want to go surf!
If I could somehow bottle the fragrance of Bubble Gum brand surf wax and neoprene, I'd be happy for eternity.
Please remember that the Pollution-Industrial Complex has been preparing for •decades• to make the pivot from “there is no climate crisis” to “it’s too late to do anything!”
Please remember that hopeless doomerism is part of fossil fuel’s PR strategy.
This isn’t doom. This is all hands on deck. This is tear down the gates and storm the castle.
