Played Dune and had so much fun as Spacing Guild. Funded everyone to fight each other, collected more spice as they need to send more troops, then won the game by the end game winning condition (with Fremen ally)!
What I really liked about this game is that there are enough decisions to make after the chit is drawn. This is because you draw chit at army (or corp for German) level, then have to choose which corp (or division for German) under the command range to activate.
In many chit-pull games, I feel like it is not me playing chits, but chits playing me as it is pretty clear what to do once the chit is drawn. Those games feel pretty scripted and not so much fun (to me).
Across The Narva - 2 handed solo. Red Army took the city at turn 10 and won. I made several mistake as German and would be able to do a better job next time. I have some minor complaint, but overall enjoyed it a lot.
Playing scenario 2 of Brazen Chariots. This and the scenario 1 are not the best battles for BCS system as there are not many rooms for maneuver and it is a siege battle. Still, really fun to play. Can’t wait to move to Brevity, Battleaxe and Crusader, eventually.
3 weeks after I play the first BCS game lol
Started Dien Bien Phu learning game last night. So far it feels extremely procedual but not in a negative way. Each side plays a completely different game (Viet Minh need to decide when and where to push and rest troops vs. French manage supply, choose the timing of counterattack and how to slow VM down) and the decisions to make are very interesting.
Played the learning game of BCS last night. Arracourt - Luneville scenario. I made rule/strategy mistake as a novice but It was a blast. Really impressive design that offers players a lot of interesting decisions. Will play this scenario once again then move to medium scenarios. (The photo is at the end of turn 1 - German won by the last activation Hail Mary move in turn 2)
