Lately I’ve been working on a app for helping me determine my training readiness. I like what Garmin do, but I often disagree with the options for iOS/Apple Watch
Last night, I think I nailed workout suggestions (runs/walk) only.
My Garmin pretty much said the same thing 😁
Note: you can even send the workout to your Apple Watch
BUT! Garmin is much at creating accurate GPS tracks.
Blue line is Garmin, Orange is Apple Watch.
The Apple Watch «only» has a single band GPS, it does a good job, but it smooths out bends and turns. Not a big issue, but something to keep in mind.
The Garmin does a perfect job, it gets every turn and switchback!
Another hot take on the Garmin (Fenix 7 Sapphire Solar) vs Apple Watch (Series 10).
Heart rate monitor. Apple does a amazing job! Why is you so much worse at this Garmin?!
Added 3 images.
1. Garmin wrist based monitor. Works pretty well on the way up, but when riding downhill, it just looses it.
2. Apple Watch, sorry graph is small (skips are autopause). Same ride. Does pretty good job at keeping heart rate on DH
3. Control ride with chest monitor. Similar route after 2nd hill climb
Yesterday was “new bike day”, I honestly think I’ve never had that much fun in a bike before 😁
