Trying out the new Siri AI beta. Camera integration will help visual intelligence adoption. The assistant is better for sure. Excited about how this might make shortcuts more useful for the masses.

About a year ago, we were approached about a project, but the investors turned it down. After mulling on it for a year, we wanted to revisit it. The time to prototype and level of risk are much less. Turns out they went and built it anyway without us and it flopped.

Maybe we dodged a headache, maybe we could have done better, maybe we should listen to the investors. Tech feels like 99% of the way to solve the problem, but sometimes it’s less than 50%.

living near the downtown Reykjavik Airport, I find this shortcut (and API) super interesting!

"Hey Siri, what’s overhead” tells you what planes are nearby.

What's Overhead

Teach Siri about aircraft flying near you. "Hey, Siri, what's overhead?"

It's #photofriday so we decided to release our Split-Fount iOS camera app. You can’t not take a happy photo with “SF Camera”. It brightens-up any day.

You can read more and get the link for a free download.

When you snap something exciting, be sure to let us know.

Since it is #photofriday we also graduated our Blocks Camera app. It’s free for iOS so grab it before we put the price-up.

You can select between a handful of pallets and it uses some dithering algorithms to create interesting pictures. You can change the pixel density from 128, down to 1.

Looking forward to seeing some of your snaps.

It's #photofriday and we’ve been busy. Inspired by Hatch Show Print (https://www.hatchshowprint.com/) we made a fun camera app filter to test. You can swipe to change the top and bottom gradients and it uses “Screen” blend mode over some overly sharpened B&W photos to make some amazing effects. You can see this all in camera before you press the shutter.

It was going to be a fun little exercise, but we’re loving the results!

spent some time today writing and running a script on an old Intel 02016 MacBook Pro with a SUPER OLD version of sketch, to convert all the *.sketch files to SVG and PDF.

He isn’t going to get caught out in a few years not being able to open an archive of interesting experiments, doodles and ideas!

visits another website completely built in javascript. Some script has a 401 cert error and the whole page is blank.

It’s 02026, why are companies still building pure JS websites?!

It’s not just me either any Crawler or bot won’t see your content either. (Unless this is their stand against unwanted AI crawlers?)

20 years ago, @si and I worked on a World Cup Kickoff site that used Microformats to generate ics calendar files of upcoming games.

That project lead to UEFA getting in touch to create a calendar site for them and then more calendaring project.

The site is on Archive.org
