Devastated.
I can’t articulate how special this man is to me.
The acting.
The career.
The VOICE.
The definitive Batman voice.
So many of the other actors are great, seriously, so very good, but when it comes to the voice, Kevin gave the magic.
Batman means so much to me, when done right, and I personally haven’t heard Kevin do it wrong.
The groundbreaking animated series is, for me, a gift that keeps on giving
The Arkham games are spectacular pieces of gaming achievement, great stories both as games and within the DC and Batman world, and are my most replayed video games.
They’ve been sources of entertainment, inspiration and, frankly, comfort for a very long time.
Kevin’s voice acting work, and a handful of onscreen and stage actors, inspired me to try acting in the first place.
Batman and stories of heroism and overcoming odds, and of moral codes (even if Batman’s moralities are pushed to the brink a points) are brilliant for me.
And they’re one of the things which help when I’m struggling.
Depression can be an unpredictable and nasty beast.
It can strike whenever it wants and leave you debilitated.
I’ve been there.
And I personally think the things that help you get through it can also be unpredictable.
And, for me, those heroic stories I mentioned are definitely something that help me feel human again during dark and hopeless times.
Batman especially.
Woke up, just checking in on US politics, STILL don’t know who has the House or Senate.
“Red wave” lol.
That’s two speeches in a row where Joe Biden has acknowledged young people turning up: if he keeps doing that over the next two years, and has policies that help young people (which are policies that would help everyone too), I have confidence they will again in ‘24.
And women. He acknowledged the massive contribution women have made to get him elected, and to help the Democrats have a strong performance during these.
He says he’s willing to work across the isle, no matter how the results go, but he drew the line on a few issues. He made it clear there would be no national abortion ban (which Republicans are pushing), in fact he’s still going to push to codify Roe v Wade into law. He won’t back down from America’s climate change response.
The House is likely going to Republicans, which will make it difficult for the President and the Democrats, but the results aren’t fully in. Now, Republicans HATE that Gen Z stopped them from easily walking into control during these elections.
Just think how terrified they must be that 16 and 17 year olds now right will be 18 and able to vote in 2024, if they’re encouraged and motivated to enroll and vote.
